- Frequently asked questions
Clear answers before you begin
These answers are general education. Your treating clinician provides advice based on your individual history and current medical information.
What is a GLP-1 medication?
GLP-1 receptor agonists mimic a hormone involved in appetite, fullness, digestion, and blood-sugar regulation. Some medications used in weight management act on GLP-1 plus another pathway. A licensed clinician must determine whether a medication is appropriate for you.
Will I automatically receive semaglutide or tirzepatide?
No. A prescription is never guaranteed. Your clinician reviews your history, eligibility, risks, current medications, potential interactions, and treatment alternatives before making a recommendation.
What makes this different from other online weight-loss programs?
The program combines clinician oversight, specific nutrition and meal-planning support, culturally responsive food strategies, movement coaching, virtual personal training, concierge coordination, and maintenance planning. Medication is one part of the plan, not the entire service.
Can you create meals around Indian, Caribbean, Latin, Mediterranean, halal, kosher, vegetarian, or other traditions?
The nutrition plan is intended to respect cultural and religious food practices. Available expertise and the level of customization should be confirmed during enrollment. Recommendations are also adapted to your health needs, household, schedule, and cooking preferences.
Will I have to count calories?
Not necessarily. Some patients benefit from tracking for a period; others use portions, meal templates, hunger cues, protein priorities, or other methods. Your plan is individualized.
What does movement coaching include?
It may include walking progression, mobility, strength training, balance, aerobic activity, exercise education, and virtual personal training. The plan is adapted to your medical status, current ability, limitations, equipment, and preferences.
Do I need a gym?
No. Many plans can be completed at home with body weight, bands, light weights, or household items. Gym-based plans may also be created for patients who prefer them.
Can I stop GLP-1 medication after I reach my goal?
Some patients may be able to reduce or discontinue treatment under clinician supervision, while others benefit from longer-term therapy. Weight regain is common after medication withdrawal. Maintenance planning starts early, but no responsible program can promise that you will be medication-free.
What happens if I have side effects?
Contact the clinical team through the approved secure channel. Your clinician may adjust food strategies, hydration, timing, dose progression, medication, or the treatment plan. Severe or dangerous symptoms require urgent or emergency care.
Do you prescribe compounded medication?
Treatment options depend on clinical need, availability, and applicable law. FDA-approved products are preferred when clinically appropriate and available. Compounded drugs are not FDA approved and should be considered only for a patient-specific need determined by a licensed prescriber.
Is the telehealth platform HIPAA compliant?
The clinical platform is designed for HIPAA-compliant communication and handling of protected health information. The public website contact form is for scheduling only and should not be used to submit medical details.
Where is care available?
Care is available only when the patient is physically located in a state where the treating clinician is appropriately licensed. Service areas can change as licensing and staffing change.
Does insurance cover the program or medication?
Coverage varies widely. Patients should confirm benefits, prior authorization requirements, deductibles, and medication coverage directly with their health plan. Program fees and prescription costs should be presented clearly before enrollment.
What if I am pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy?
Tell the clinician before treatment. Weight-management medications may be inappropriate during pregnancy or when pregnancy is planned, and product-specific instructions vary. Do not start, stop, or continue medication without medical guidance.
Is this emergency care?
No. Call 911 or seek emergency care for a medical emergency. Do not rely on website forms, routine messaging, coaching, or scheduled telehealth visits for urgent symptoms.
How quickly will I lose weight?
There is no guaranteed rate. Progress varies by person, medication, dose, adherence, health conditions, sleep, stress, nutrition, movement, and other factors. A safe plan prioritizes health, function, and sustainability rather than the fastest possible loss.
Have a question about your own eligibility?
That requires a private clinical consultation.
